(Africa/Addis_Ababa)

Venue: Main - Felege Ghion Resort

Track: Youth & Academic

Lita Wanjiru Ngure, a Kenyan and student at the University of Cambridge, UK, questions our dominant understanding of resource sovereignty and calls our attention to the social infrastructures that sustain life. She focuses on Sudan, a country that is currently riddled with armed conflict and uncomfortable political dynamics. Fadzai Nyamarebvu, a Zimbabwean, studying in Namibia, at the International University of Management, uses an inclusive lens to examine cross-border trading and invites us to consider an approach that may enhance economic enfranchisement. In her words, regional institutions should be more “responsive to the economic actors whose daily business actions provide practical meaning to regional integration.”
